Irene Recovery

Volunteers

Last Updated: 9/12/11

Despite the ravages of Tropical Storm Irene, our region has seen a substantial volunteer movement from community to community. Many individuals, both in our region and outside, have come together to assist our communities with the long recovery process.

Volunteers involved in cleanup operations need to be aware of the potential for health risks. For more information go to the health and safety section of our web site.

For those interested in volunteering, contact your communities. Social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have been used extensively to generate volunteer interest post-Irene.
