For current national disaster news, you can try the news release page of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Up-to-date information on national disaster activity can also be found by looking at the National Situation Update report located within the FEMA site. If you are looking for information on a specific kind of disaster, please also check under the Specific Types of Hazards section of this web site.

Each state has an Emergency Management Agency. The Vermont Emergency Management (VEM) web site and its Situation Report, is a good source of updates related to occurring or recent disasters that the state is recovering from. The site also has many useful links. The latest disaster news may be posted to the VEM Twitter account at www.twitter.com/vemvt or follow them on Facebook.
